My interest in song lyrics started early in my senior year of high school with the album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., released in October 1964 by the songwriters, artists, poets, and singers Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. To me, it was spiritually inspiring. For the first time in my life, I felt the need to understand the meaning behind a poet's lyrics. There was so much depth, symbolism, and thought-provoking inference to biblical concepts. By the end of the year, I had written and given my interpretation of some of their songs in an hour-long presentation to our senior English class."
