Ben David Duncan, PhD is a retired full professor who served as Director of Research and Curriculum Development, as well as Graduate Director of Higher Education Studies at The University of Central Oklahoma.  He has completed his new book “#11 – USC’s Little Trojan That Could”: A riveting opus of the struggles, hope and determination of a young immigrant who had a dream!

Duncan writes, “An exciting story of the immigration struggles of a determined Indonesian family. Fleeing their home country, they spent ten years in Dutch immigrant camps. After obtaining a sponsor and permission to travel, they boarded a ship for their voyage to America, with their dream of freedom!  One family member took that dream and reached the impossible!  Young Chris made his way, through countless obstacles, to establish his name in USC Trojan football lore! This pint-sized nobody etched his name into Trojan and Rose Bowl history! Few gave him a chance to succeed in a game of giants, but he would not be denied!  While in high school, Chris met a young coach from Oklahoma, who recognized his talents. Although Chris and “Coach D” came from totally different backgrounds, they teamed to develop a new kicking style in California high school football. The rest is history!  The kid with a big heart taught us to “reach for the stars!” Chris Limahelu will always be: ‘#11 – The Little Trojan That Could!”
