David Hanson's New Book 'The Fifth Crack: A Story of God's Love' is a Touching True Story That Chronicles God's Faithfulness Through a Lifetime.

Recent release "The Fifth Crack: A Story of God's Love" from Covenant Books author David Hanson is a stirring memoir that chronicles the author's life of ups and downs, hopes and fears, loves and losses, soaring faith and crippling doubt, from ages eleven to fifty, and how through it all God had remained faithful.

David Hanson, a longtime aspiring author who was raised as the second to youngest child in rural Iowa, has completed his new book, “The Fifth Crack: A Story of God’s Love”: an intimate memoir of faith.

David shares, “With my marriage over, not able to go to work without hurting, no place to go to get away from it, I was just miserable. I had only one hope and that was to find God.

"One day on my way to work, I felt this overwhelming need to go to this park that I always went to when I wanted to be alone. When I got there, I just started to pray. The more I prayed, the more I knew God was going to be there. I just had to find Him and know that Jesus was his son.

"I was looking and praying. I would go look in the trees, look in the bushes. I even would look in the outhouses that were there. Praying and looking and reading the Bible and listening to preachers on the radio. This went on for sixty-nine days, then I finally gave up.

"I was convinced that God wasn’t real, and Jesus wasn’t the Son of God. Broken in so many pieces, not knowing where to turn, I decided that going back to work was the best thing to do.”
