Jerry Tucker's New Book "Heart Healthy Nutrition Intervention for Parishioners" is an Eye-Opening Study Investigating Lifestyle Causes of Heart Disease.

"Heart Healthy Nutrition Intervention for Parishioners" from author Jerry Tucker is an educational analysis that explores the lifestyle choices that lead to cardiovascular disease, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes, which are all leading causes of deaths among men and women in the United States.

Jerry Tucker MA, RDN, LDN, a Moveable Feast community dietitian and trained chef from Baltimore, has completed his new book “Heart Healthy Nutrition Intervention for Parishioners”:  a discerning study for health awareness.

Tucker shares, “In the Bible, the implication for food recommendations was provided in the book of Daniel. In the New American Bible the book of Daniel states (Daniel 1:5). The king allotted them a daily portion of food and wine from the royal table. But, Daniel was resolved not to defile himself with the king’s food or wine. Please test your servants for ten days. Give us vegetables to eat and water to drink then compare us to the rest. After ten days they looked healthier and better fed than any young men who ate from the royal table (p. 917).

Parallel to the recommendation of Daniel, as it relates to food, many national health originations support the suggestion for fruits and vegetables to be consumed in the everyday diet. However, most National Organizations feel that eating a balanced meal is more appropriate for healthier diet for today’s society. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) share information that in order to create a healthy eating plan it should include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes (beans, peas, lentils,), low-fat dairy and dairy products, seafood, lean meats, poultry, and nuts (seeds) as a good balance for protein, fats, carbohydrates, and fiber to provide a good source of energy from the diet to the human body.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Jerry Tucker’s new book draws an interesting parallel between Christian life and healthy nutrition choices.

Tucker authoritatively draws from the current literature in the field, as well as Holy Scripture, and the aid of scientific studies to understand the situation and guide the flock to healthier living.
